I love making statements and often end up picking up one piece of statement clothing or jewellery and then plan the whole look accordingly around it. A statement piece also helps to divert the attention to the areas you want.
So this blog post is all about how I easily put up two statement looks.
1) Clothing
It is very easy to make a statement with a piece of clothing. Pick up something which you got you attracted to in the first place when you shopped. It could be a bright colour, a different design, something in trend or simply something that you think should be highlighted. Remember the trick is to give full attention to this piece and hence you will have to team the rest of your look which compliments it but also doesn't take away the attention at the same time.
For my first look, I picked up this bright orange shrug with embroidery all over it. It also has a peplum kind of fit that makes it unique.
I teamed it with a black tank top and a black pencil skirt to highlight the shrug.

2) Jewellery
Statement pieces of jewellery is an on-going trend from a long time. You could opt for a big chunky pair of earrings or a neckpiece that grabs the attention at one glance. The idea is to make a statement with your look so the jewellery piece also needs to be somewhat connected to your personality.
For this look, I am wearing a beautiful silver neckpiece from Gujrat. I teamed it with a three quartered black top and a green long maxi skirt. Neutrals like black and white always are best to highlight statement pieces. You can also go for dark solids for the same effect.
