Minimal chic.

I am in a phase (or is this the real me?) where a pair or two denims (shredded most probably), some t-shirts or tops in hues of black, white, grey and sneakers/flat pumps can suffice my entire wardrobe. So 'basics' is what dominates my wardrobe and some days I deliberetly have to look for a coloured top to break the monotony of wearing black three times a week for work!

Basics work wonderfully and look classy when paired up correctly. They give us an impression of a minimal, no fuss you. And the neutral colours! Oh how much I adore them :)

So I have decided to come up with some of my favorite basic looks and tips on how easily you can look fabulous in them. I do not recommend this daily, since it might be a little dull for some of you, but on days you feel you need a comfort and minimal look, go for it!

1) The ultimate classic : White shirt and blue denims

A white shirt/top is a must in every girl's wardrobe. And while you can pair it with anything and express your style, go the classic way and pair it with your best fitted denims. Tuck it in for a formal look or play messy, leaving it all loose.

Tip: Do not forget to pair it with neutral coloured accessories as well, be it be your belt, bag or your shoes. The motto is to look minimal after all !

2) Add some black magic: No kidding, wearing a black top/t-shirt or even bottoms instantly changes your look especially when worn with another neutral.

Tip: For a no fuss look, tie up a bun and wear accessories that will highlight with the black piece you are wearing, like a pair of statement shades or a watch.

3) Go Grey : Wearing grey instantly makes one look classy. Pair up grey with either black, for maximum coverage or even with a pair of denims for a laid back yet catchy look.

Tip: Pick the shade of grey carefully, since a lighter shade would need a darker bottom or another piece for support while a dark shade of grey would go with almost everything.

4) Layer, layer: Yes, you can layer with basics too and I feel it is the most fun to pair up basics with different elements. Just be careful to stick to neutrals (nude, browns also count) to keep up the 'minimal' look.

Tip: A denim jacket is another of a must have's I feel for a girl. They are classy, all-season friendly and go with almost everything.

5) White sneakers : Yes, accessorising right is also vital with basics and a white pair of sneakers would definitely give our outfit a whole new outlook. Besides white sneakers go with all the neutrals- blacks, denims or greys.

Tip: Fold up your trousers to give your sneakers the maximum visibility, also it looks so much cooler!

So which style inspired you the most? Will you try out any? Let me know if you do :) I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post as much as I enjoyed writing it. Till the next post, keep it simple, keep it stylish but most importantly keep it 'you' !!
