The “long” affair.

What goes around comes around. This is absolutely true for the fashion trends. This season’s major comeback is the 70’s trends in the form of high waist maxi skirts. And what’s better than some “bold” prints/patterns/colors to take over this one? Not sure how it would look on you? Let’s take some celebrity style inspirations from our own Bollywood divas…

1. Jacqueline Fernandez in a long flowing pastel printed skirt paired with a lilac crop top at the movie “Brother’s” trailer launch.

2. Next in line we have the gorgeous Neha Dhupia, hosting the IIFA weekend 2015 in a bold yellow geometric print high waist long skirt with an equally lovely mint green crop top with red and green floral. Pair it up with some glitter stilettos and a clutch, like she did and you are ready to go!

3. Aditi Rao Hydari too was spotted in this year’s IIFA with a long flowing floral printed skirt paired with a stripped orange crop top with a middle parted tight bun that helped her nail the look.

4. Actress Tamanna spotted a similar trend- stripped crop top and long flowing skirt at the Bahubali trailer launch.

5. Kangana Ranaut in two looks- Sabyasachi matching floral printed skirt and crop top with a braided bun and the second with a traditional touch- royal blue skirt and top with a matching stole.

Such an inspiring set of beauties! But where to find these skirts? The answer is right here.

These celebrities have adorned designer pieces, but for those of us who don’t or can’t do the same, we need not worry. You would easily find these type of skirts online:

STYLING TIPS:

The outfit

  • Though a crop top seems to be the perfect pairing with such skirts, you could also pair it with a short top or even t-shirt for a more casual look.

  • For a formal look, you can tuck in a shirt or structured top with these skirts.

  • If you are not sure about bold prints on your skirt, you can go for color blocking and opt for a solid colored skirt instead.

  • Just be sure to balance the top and the skirt with complimentary colors. You could experiment with print on print but I would suggest the same print on both the top and skirt to nail the look.

Accessorizing

  • A statement necklace would look lovely provided your top is of a solid color or there is no work especially on the neck area. Also, be sure it compliments the skirt.

  • A clutch is highly recommendable as it would give a classy look.

  • Those of you who feel that long flowly skirts would make you look shorter, you could always wear a pair of wedges along with it.

Hairstyle

  • Try the clean look. A braided or middle parted bun would highly compliment this look.

Makeup

  • Concentrate on one focal point, either go heavy on eye makeup or try a bold color on the lips like fuchsia pink or blood red.

So that’s it for this one! I hope you like the trend report on celebrities and would also try out this look sometime along with my style tips.
